About Us

For over 50 years, Melbourne based David Golf has been a household name to golf course superintendents and club managers.  The company is Australia's largest supplier of golf course hardware and practice equipment with in excess of 200 product lines.  The Company also has offices in Sydney and Brisbane and exports to Asia and New Zealand.

The business commenced operations in 1954 when David Finks established a small engineering business in Fitzroy, an inner suburb of Melbourne, to manufacture ball washers for golf courses.  The business steadily grew to also supply associated items such as flagpoles, putting cups and tee markers.

In 1992 I acquired a 50% interest in David Golf, this became 100% in 2002.  This compliments other golf related investments including The Dunes Golf Links, which has been ranked as Australia's #1 public access course and among Australia's Top 20 courses.  In addition, I have been an active participant in the development of Thirteenth Beach Golf Links, a 36 hole private members course, at Barwon Heads in Victoria.  Accordingly at David Golf we understand what golf courses need, we understand the requirements of the key decision makers such as superintendents and club managers and we apply this understanding to our day to day operations at David Golf.

The expansion of David Golf, particularly in the last decade, can be attributed to:

• a commitment to carrying a full range of product, and
• a commitment to stock or inventory levels which mean we can supply immediate delivery, and
• a commitment to visiting our clients as often as possible to help us understand their needs and requirements.

In recent years David Golf has expanded into, corporate promotional golf products, hire of golf course equipment, supply of selected pro-shop equipment such as battery and manual golf buggies and construction of safety netting barriers.

Of particular importance has been the expansion of our hardware sales to countries outside Australia.  New Zealand, South East Asia, Japan, China and India have become important markets as superintendents realise the quality and service benefits of dealing with David Golf.

Our client's requirements are our priority.  We intend to keep improving each year by providing the service and back-up customers have come to expect.
